The Lake District (Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Kendal)

This truly is the most breathtaking area of England we have seen thus far. We had decided early on to just drive through the Lake District but after arriving in the first town, Keswick, we regretted not having the time or money to stay longer. The Lake District is essentially “cottage” country, but you won’t see many motor boats on the water. After a lengthy drive through some stunning scenery we stopped off in Windermere for a rest.
